I went to bed and slept the sleep of the saved and thankful …
The election of November 5-6, 2024
November 6, 2024
After what can only be called a miraculous election outcome on November 5-6, 2024, the title of this piece undoubtedly reflects the sentiments of millions of us. Millions of us who, four years ago, went to bed fully recognizing that a “steal” was being executed; a coup d’etat underway.
The following four years we endured calumnies – e.g., labeled “insurrectionists” and “domestic terrorists” and “Christian nationalists” (actually, I consider the latter to be a compliment). And emerging Communism working to permanently cement its control over us – the actions of the DOJ and FBI pursuing lawfare and arresting and incarcerating political opponents – making them de facto political prisoners – are not the characteristics of Americans loyal to their country and their oaths to uphold and defend our Constitution, but classic Communist apparatchiks, thugs and practitioners of crimes against humanity.
Their intent was to scapegoat patriots – actually counter-revolutionaries – by convincing a critical mass of the public that they were dangerous “insurrectionists” and “terrorists” and that the Communism 2.0 operatives were actually the loyal Americans. The “legacy” media were willing accomplices.
Certain brave souls now stand out for having resisted this manifesting evil. President Trump, first and foremost. But also (to name but a few, in no particular order) Steve Bannon, Mike Lindell, Professor John Eastman, Rudy Giuliani, Tina Peters, Peter Navarro … and the especially the J6 political prisoners, ordinary citizens persecuted in order advance the fabricated narrative of an “insurrection.”
In turn, they inspired many of us to not give in, or give up. In my own case, I would also remind myself that someday I will be standing before my Maker to be judged. And, no matter the outcome now, I wanted to be able to report that at least I never stopped peacefully resisting the encroaching evil, nor stopped bearing witness to and about it. I am certainly not unique in finding resolve by considering eternity and our individual judgment to come.
The aforementioned individuals also demonstrated an American character and characteristic – think of the response given by American General Anthony McAuliffe to the surrender terms proposed by the Wehrmacht as it surrounded the Americans in the besieged Bastogne (during WWII’s “Battle of the Bulge”): “NUTS.” The German foe was baffled by this crazy American who wouldn’t surrender in the face of overwhelming odds.
Which brings us back to the title of this piece. It is a partial quote from Winston Churchill, describing how he felt after two years of fighting the Axis, essentially in a defensive posture, without the means to either resist indefinitely, nor go on offense, upon learning of the attack on Pearl Harbor, which mean that the United States – the “arsenal of democracy” – would be entering the war. In this, he also makes note of our American character – our legacy, and our birthright:
Silly people, and there were many, not only in enemy countries, might discount the force of the United States. Some said they were soft, others that they would never be united. They would fool around at a distance. They would never come to grips. They would never stand bloodletting. Their democracy and system of recurrent elections would paralyse their war effort. They would be just a vague blur on the horizon to friend or foe. Now we should see the weakness of this numerous but remote, wealthy, and talkative people. But I had studied the American Civil War, fought out to the last desperate inch. American blood flowed in my veins. I thought of a remark which Edward Grey had made to me more than thirty years before—that the United States is like ‘a gigantic boiler. Once the fire is lighted under it there is no limit to the power it can generate.’ Being saturated and satiated with emotion and sensation, I went to bed and slept the sleep of the saved and thankful.
At the time, the ultimate outcome of the war against that Axis remained uncertain. D-Day was still several years away, and itself did not mark the end of the war, or final victory — just that we made a beachhead, and so were on offense.
The return of President Trump means that we have made a beachhead against the current Axis (what I refer to as the Globalist-CCP Axis); his return to the White House signifying that we have taken the high ground.
But neither our election victory in the wee hours of this morning, nor President Trump resuming office next January, marks the end of the war against this latest iteration of a march of evil forces seeking global domination. No. The evildoers have already been scheming plans intended to derail a second Trump term, and with it, the forces of righteousness and Americanism (see here for a good synopsis of their scheming).
So today, and for a few days more, we have earned the right to revel in our current victory, and sleep the sleep of the saved and thankful – even as some mop-up operations are still underway vis-à-vis the election.
But it is also time for us to give thanks to our God, who heard our prayers and granted us His hand to provide another chance for our Divinely-inspired country. For when we contemplate what occurred with the election of 2020, and what followed – including two assassination attempts on President Trump – it becomes inarguable but that but-for the Hand of Providence, we would not have prevailed last evening.
With that, let us conclude with another quote from Winston Churchill (whose mother was American):
The plot is certainly sensational, but it hardly represents what actually happened. It is difficult to believe that the European emigrants by whom America has been populated took away with them all the virtues and left behind them all the vices of the races from which they had sprung; or that a few generations of residence on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean is sufficient to create an order of beings definitely superior in morals, in culture, and in humanity to their prototypes in Europe. The American.
Alongside President Trump, let’s show the bastards that they haven’t beat the American out of us!
After our brief revel for this election victory, it will be time for us – as Americans – to roll up our sleeves and set about once again saving our nation and, by so doing, the world.
